 Food on Foot is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Tax-ID#31-1581053) dedicated to providing the poor and homeless of Los Angeles with nutritious meals, clothing, and assistance in the transition to employment and life off the streets. Food on Foot operates a weekly meal program every Sunday in Hollywood. Food on Foot began in March 1996 as one man's response to the hunger he witnessed among the poor and homeless of Hollywood. What initially began as the distribution of meals from the trunk of a car has grown through the dedication of its volunteers and now serves more than 250 meals each week to homeless, disabled, elderly and low-income adults and children. more about us »
Volunteer of the Week Stephanie McGurk - $84 Club Member - 06/28/2009Volunteering here really helps put in perspective how lucky most of us are just to have food every day and a roof over our heads. There are many people out there who aren't so fortunate, and are too often ignored by society. Food on Foot is truly amazing because it gives homeless people more than just a handout, it offers them a second chance. I'm proud to devote my time and money into such a well-organized and good-hearted program. How Can I Help Food on Foot?Donate - Send a check or make a online donation. 100% of your donation goes toward the purchase of much needed food and is a tax-deductible contribution! Details... Clothing - Donate your gently worn clothing (infant to adult sizes), shoes, blankets, backpacks, etc. It's a tax-deductible contribution! These donations are accepted every Sunday between 10:30am - 2:30pm at our Hollywood feeding location, 1625 N. Schrader Blvd. Volunteer - Help distribute the pre-packaged food and clothing on Sundays at 3:15 P.M. in Hollywood. Details... | Neil Patrick Harris Turns 36 and Food on Foot receives the gift! We have groups of 20-30 volunteers that wish to volunteer for a specific date. A donation of $2000 covers all of the costs of food and food gift cards for our Work for Food crew. This donation will allow your group to participate in every part of our Sunday activities and your group will be the ONLY volunteers for that day.
