Volunteers of the Week - Russell "Boyd" Quinnell - $98 club member

Food on Foot means helping people out of desperate situations, giving them hope and confidence, and getting them out of taxpayer supported programs and becoming tax payers themselves. It's not a hand-out, it's a helping hand. Each person must make the decision to change their life for themselves. It's nice to know that FoF is there to help when they make the decision to improve their lives! On my first visit, there were several people that weren't in great shape but were clearly trying to help themselves. A few weeks later, it was amazing to see the change in them. Some had graduated and others were well on their way. What a great organization to be a part of! We offer hope and a path out of not so good situations. -R. Boyd

Work for Food

Each Sunday afternoon 40-50 homeless and poor individuals participate in our trash clean up program. This is the first step in their attempt to increase confidence and ultimately obtain a full time job and housing. We are proud that so many have graduated our program and are now completely self-supporting and off all government assistance.
Previous Work for Food Success Stories:

Paul D.

Deborah S.

Danny G.

The May edition of our bi-monthly Footnotes newsletter [pdf] is now available! (05/21) Celebrate the warm weather by helping to distribute food and clothing on a Sunday in June. Advance registration is required. Food on Foot has a very unique program - Work for Food - where the homeless collect street trash to earn food each week. Many have graduated WFF after approximately three months and now have full-time jobs that enable them to pay for their housing and leave all government assistance. We have helped turn tax burdens into tax payers for the last 15 years. Read More: Fox News: Could L.A.'s Jay Goldinger Hold the Key to Defeating Homelessness?
