Wow! With your incredible help, two more people have been forever and positively changed:

  • Terrell S. graduated on Sunday, April 1st
  • Brandon B. received his Gray shirt on March 18th

Because of your support, Terrell and Brandon are both fully employed and are living off the streets in their own safe apartments! Thank you.

What’s the difference between a Gray Shirt and a Graduate?

Gray Shirts are Food on Foot participants who are halfway through the Work for Food program.

These hard workers receive their “Gray Shirt” once they have attended the Work for Food program for at least 10 consecutive weeks, AND have shown positive work habits and progress towards reaching their life-goals.

Gray shirts earn the following:

  • A full time job (which we help them find)
  • A fully furnished apartment
  • Monthly bus passes
  • Cell phones
  • Gym memberships (to keep them strong with their new job)
  • Extra resources they need for their new job

Once a Gray Shirt accumulates $5,000 in paycheck savings from their job, they graduate the Work for Food program.

Graduates are fully-employed and self-sufficient, tax paying citizens. They also have a $5,000 savings account consisting of the earnings they made while in the program.

None of this could be done without the wonderful and big-hearted support from people like YOU.  When you support Food on Foot, you give our homeless clients the empowering second chance to take control of their lives. Thank you!!
