Thank you for signing up to volunteer at Food on Foot’s Sunday serving. We are extremely excited for you to help distribute meals and clothing to our unhoused and low-income neighbors in need. To get started, here’s some important info for you:
When and where is the serving?
The serving is located in the back parking lot of the LGBT Center at 1625 N. Schrader Blvd. Hollywood, CA 90028. Please arrive promptly at 12:30 PM. We will finish around 2:30 PM. Food on Foot hosts the Sunday Serving every week, rain or shine, so please dress comfortably and accordingly.
Where do I park?
Free parking is available at our serving site location in the back parking lot of the LGBT Center – 1625 N. Schrader Blvd, Hollywood, CA 90028. Please enter through the SOUTH gate and you’ll be directed where to park.
What is volunteering like?
It’s uplifting and inspiring. Your presence gives hope to our participants and reminds them that they’re not invisible or forgotten and that people like you care about them. Their gratitude is humbling. As a volunteer, you will distribute chicken meals from El Pollo Loco, bottled water, a variety of snacks, clothing, and other essential items to 350+ unhoused and low-income neighbors.
Do you help people experiencing homelessness and poverty find jobs and housing?
Yes! In addition to distributing meals and vital essentials, Food on Foot provides a path towards self-sufficiency through our Jobs & Housing program.
Through this program, participants can learn empowering life skills, secure employment and permanent housing, and graduate with a huge boost in confidence. As a volunteer, you will meet and hear stories from participants in Food on Foot’s Jobs & Housing program.
Got clothes to donate? Bring them with you!
In addition to meals, Food on Foot also distributes clothing every Sunday.
We are accepting new and gently used everyday clothing, and clothing appropriate for jobs and job interviews (suits, ties, and dresses). We also accept warm jackets, blankets, sleeping bags, and backpacks. Currently, men’s clothing and shoes are in high demand.
Please wash all used clothing. We cannot accept dirty, stained, or torn clothes.
Do I need to wear a mask?
Masks are optional: Until further notice, masks for staff, volunteers, and program participants are optional when worn outside. Thank you.
